The Brainles bändin musaa. Bändi oli koossa 1975-1980. Vuonna 2009 kokoonnuimme yhteen ja pläjäytimme omakustannelevyn.

The Brainles was formed in 1975 by five individuals on rural area of
Finland, in a small municipality called Reisjärvi. Playing mostly
covers from Dr. Feelgood, Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival
and like, we even managed to have some gigs before we had to stop
playing together around 1980 because we had to concentrate on getting
our share of food and stuff by working for some unsuspecting
employers.

In 2009 we kind of happened to be in a sufficiently odd-minded state
to encounter each others and play in a small recording studio (The
famous Perägrammari) for one day. We managed to play through five of
our versions, or what we remembered out of them, of the original stuff
used almost 30 years ago.

These pages are invented by my wife, who already has couple of blogs
and she has also helped with converting original pictures from 1970:s
and 1980:s as well as providing some new, mostly from our family
collection.

In spite of all our efforts, please enjoy!

Mr. Bojangles

During the studio session of Sultans Of Swing, we had some time left at the end of the reserved studio time. Originally we planned to just play and sing couple of songs together with the guitarist of The Brainles, but his back was so soar after our ordeal, that he could not change a chord, so I had to play and sing at the same time.

I am not a guitarist, so I hope You don't mind my mistakes. I sang and played Lady Jane and this Mr. Bojangles. Pictures are taken by my wife, and the ones in the middle are for the memory of our almost 16 year old dog Pyry, who passed away about a year ago for lung cancer. Our new dog Myrsky, is closing this slideshow. Lets hope, he has at least as many years as Pyry ahead.

This song is played by many artists, of which I have heard the versions of Sammy Davis Jr. and mr. Bob Dylan. As you can probably hear, I am a great fan of them both, but I am a bit more comfortable with the sound and attitude of Mr. Dylan.

Information about the composer Jerry Jeff Walker are found from Wikipedia and words are also found easily with Google. Again, I prefer the wording of Mr. Dylan of which I have used here.

Lady Jane

Lady Jane of The Rolling Stones. Played and sung by one member of The Brainles. Recorded as one take at the studio Perägrammari.

Pictures of our Dachshund Myrsky by Nettimartta. Hope You enjoy this.

Sultans of Swing

Two members of The Brainles, two sons of The Brainles and a very capable studio owner create their version of Dire Straits favorite, Sultans Of Swing. Mixed with some pictures from Nettimartta, this soup is served hot and spicy with couple of pints of Guinness! Also included a pittoresque dachshund Myrsky for those who love animals with an attitude...
